1. About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the AI EC community portal (the "Portal") and your membership in the AI EC community. By applying for membership or using the Portal, you agree to these terms.
AI EC is a community, not a registered company. These terms are intended to set clear expectations for all members.
2. Membership Eligibility
Membership is by application only and is open to women only. We reserve the right to approve or decline any application at our discretion. Membership is personal and non-transferable.
3. Member Responsibilities
As a member, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information in your membership application and keep it up to date
- Treat other members with respect
- Not send unsolicited direct messages to other members for any commercial, promotional, or recruiting purpose
- Not post unsolicited job advertisements or recruitment solicitations in any community space
- Not share or promote financial or investment advice, including advice related to AI products or companies
- Not misuse or misrepresent contact details shared by other members
- Not use member data (including contact details accessed through the Portal) for spam, unsolicited marketing, or any purpose other than genuine community connection
- Not attempt to scrape, harvest, or systematically collect member data from the Portal
- Not use any member's personal information (including contact details, LinkedIn profiles, or any other data visible on the Portal) to harass, spam, stalk, or otherwise harm another member
4. WhatsApp Group
Our community is primarily organised through a WhatsApp group. By joining the WhatsApp group:
- You acknowledge that your mobile number is visible to all other group members, as is standard on WhatsApp
- You agree to abide by any community guidelines shared within the group
- You understand that leaving or being removed from the WhatsApp group will result in your Portal membership being deactivated and your profile being removed
5. Portal Access and Member Directory
Approved members can access resources and a member directory on the Portal.
Contact preferences: If you opt in, your WhatsApp number and/or email address may be visible to other approved members so they can contact you directly. You can change these preferences at any time.
Future features: We intend to introduce an AI-powered directory search and LinkedIn bio generation (based on your public LinkedIn profile). We will seek your consent before these features are applied to your profile.
6. Content and Resources
Resources shared on the Portal are for the personal use of members only. You may not redistribute, republish, or share Portal content externally without permission.
Curated Third-Party Content
Much of the content shared on the Portal — including summaries, insights, and resources — is curated from publicly available third-party sources such as newsletters, articles, and publications. We share this content in good faith for educational and community purposes, in the spirit of a member community rather than a commercial publication.
We make reasonable efforts to credit original sources where known. However, due to the informal and high-volume nature of curation, it is not always possible to attribute every piece of content to its original author or publication. If you believe any content on the Portal infringes your copyright or has not been appropriately credited, please contact us and we will promptly review and either add attribution or remove the content.
7. Termination of Membership
Membership may be ended:
- By you, at any time, by leaving the WhatsApp group or requesting removal
- By us, if you breach these terms or behave in a way that is harmful to the community
Any member found to have harvested, misused, or exploited other members' personal information — including for harassment, unsolicited outreach, or any purpose outside genuine community engagement — will be immediately removed from both the Portal and the WhatsApp group, with no prior warning required.
Upon termination, your profile will be removed from the Portal.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Portal is provided as-is, on a best-efforts basis, by a volunteer-run community. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Portal, interactions with other members, or temporary unavailability of the service.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify members of significant changes via the WhatsApp group or the Portal. Continued use of the Portal after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
